I guess I was born to draw.

Even in the early days, my parents had to clean my crayon markings off of the walls and furniture.  Fortunately, they gave me paper, and encouraged me.  For that, I am eternally grateful.

Realizing that creating stuff was my destiny, I pursued an art degree from the University of South Carolina.  Studying under such luminaries as Phillip Mullen, Roy Drasites and Boyd Saunders, I learned to hone my skills, and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with Honors.  Since then, I've created hundreds of visual images for both business and private customers.  Thanks to a lengthy friendship/alliance with Bill Wise Printers of Orangeburg, SC, I was able to gain valuable experience in the use of computers as a new medium.

The culmination of these 20+ years has been a unique perspective of art from both the fine art and digital dimensions.  I've learned to draw or paint images in the most traditional ways, yet also create vector images through the use of computer software.  Though developed centuries apart, they're still varied media toward a common goal.

So how does this help you?  It gives me the ability to create virtually ANY image that you may need, from a portrait of your family to a logo for your business.  Need a unique business card, brochure, newsletter?  Need it on CD, or emailed to the vendor of your choice?  I can help.  Need a drawing of Aunt Pauline, the old family home, or your dad's '57 DeSoto?  Just let me know.  Need a t-shirt design for your family reunion, racing team or undiscovered garage band?  I'm chomping at the bit.  Furthermore, if you need t-shirts but don't have a source, I'm connected to several screen printers.  Best of all, it doesn't matter whether we're 1 mile or 1,000 miles apart.  Thanks to email, I can send you a digital image in mere seconds.

Please check out the samples in my galleries.  These are just a few of the images that I've created for individuals such as you, and I'm confident that I can help you, too.

It's an absolute blessing to be able to make a living doing the things that I enjoy, and I want to thank a few of the people who have helped me to get here: My late parents, "Hap" and Mary Emma Allen, who passed on the combined genes, as well as giving me paper, crayons, pencils and encouragement.  Mentors such as Edgar Bowman, Bess Duke, Cleo Duensing and all others who taught and guided me.  The '70s art faculty of THE USC (is there any other?).  Bill Wise, whose friendship and patience brought me back onto my destined path.  And most of all, my amazing wife, Debra, whose support and most of all, patience, have enabled me to follow my dreams.
